GRAM Webinar #10 - 2023 OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct

The 10th GRAM webinar will be hosted by the OECD and will focus on the recent update to their guidelines for multinational enterprises. The OECD Guidelines for Multinational Enterprises on Responsible Business Conduct (the Guidelines) are recommendations jointly addressed by governments to multinational enterprises to enhance the business contribution to sustainable development and address adverse impacts associated with business activities on people, planet, and society. The Guidelines are supported by a unique implementation and non-judicial grievance mechanism, the National Contact Points for Responsible Business Conduct (NCPs), established by governments to further the effectiveness of the Guidelines. To date, NCPs have handled around 700 cases involving issues in over 100 countries and territories.

The Webinar will comprise a presentation of the updates with a focus on access to remedy and NCPs, and a discussion around achievements and challenges following such updates, as well as learnings and opportunities for cooperation between the NCP network and other grievance mechanisms.
